1 day: Trip to Ngamba Island

Ngamba Island is part of the Koome group of islands located on Lake Victoria 23km south of Entebbe, Uganda. This island is a home to over 40 orphaned chimpanzees, a project of the Chimpanzees Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust (CSWCT). Chimpanzees are an endangered species found only in the forests of Africa.
After a short briefing by your guide from Access Africa Tours, depart from Entebbe to the shores of Lake Victoria and travel by boat to the island the journey takes approximately 45 minutes by speedboat or 1½ hours by motorized traditional boat.
On arrival at the sanctuary, you will be given a short introduction and briefing from the sanctuary wardens.

Depending on the time of arrival you will participate in the morning and afternoon feeding of the chimpanzees from the visitors platform area along the edge of the sanctuary fence, it is fascinating to watch the chimps interact with each other and with their keepers. With information by sanctuary staff, viewing a neighboring fishing village, fantastic bird-watching and other wildlife encounters, or just sunbathe and relax! You will return to the mainland in the late afternoon where you will meet your safari guide who will transfer you to your hotel or Entebbe Airport for your flight back home.
